When Posting Your Dolphin Issues...
« on: April 25, 2009, 05:39:09 AM »
I just recently noticed that before actually getting help, a lot of message's going back and fort are about, asking the specs, dolphin version and settings of dolphin. I just gonna compile some things that you can do to help the helpers help you better.

Do not post replies to this thread with your Dolphin issues. Instead, start a new one.

1.State your problem as clearly as possible,

Does it crash? If yes where?

Were you able to play the game before? If yes did you install any hardware or software prior to the issue? Or did you change the dolphin settings prior?

Is it the latest version of dolphin or emulation software your using?

Do other games work?

2.Give all the possible information

a.Attach your dxdiag
(this is the most accurate way of checking your computer hardware)

Click on start.
Click on run.
Type dxdiag in the box, click ok.
A popup will appear just click yes.
Now click save all information.
Save your text file then attach it to your post!

b.Please take screenshots! And paste in on your tread!

How?

When your encountering the problem.
Press print screen on the keyboard.
Open up your paint its on all programs/accessories.
Click on edit.
Click on paste. (or just hit ctrl+v, on the keyboard)
Now save your pic.
Upload in any of your favorite image hosting website. i.e. photobucket, imageshack.
Copy the image code then paste on your tread

c.Give your settings on dolphin.

3. The most important is Read the tutorials

They are stickied for a reason.

I believe if we do this, it will be a whole lot easier for the helpers to help you.
I'll check the treads to see if i'm missing something.

I'll sticky this. If you wouldn't mind going through and fixing a bit of the capitalization, it would make me feel better about myself. ;)

Some uploads may contain hidden files. For help, check out this tutorial.
